The Dress

This is a beautiful dress that was worn on a very happy day! It is very flattering with a gorgeous train. It is a very comfortable dress to wear, I wore it from late morning until the early hours and loved every minute wearing it. Although it's got three layers, it's quite light, which makes it enjoyable to wear. I wore it with a lacy shrug/bolero (also bought from Wed2Be) which I am keeping. In the first two wedding photos I am wearing the shrug and I love this look. The dress itself has lacy straps as you can see from picture three. Having the shrug meant that when I got a little warm during the afternoon, I could take it off and have bare arms for a while.

I also wore a hooped petticoat to give the dress it gorgeous flared shape. I am including the petticoat (worn once) in this listing. This was also purchased from Wed2Be for £80.

The last photo is of the back and was taken in the dress alterations shop. I have included it to make it clear how the button and hook work. This was added during alterations and means that when you don't want the longish train down anymore it can just be hooked up. It still looks lovely and means you don't have to carry the train.

This dress can be washed which I have done very carefully in order to remove some dirt from the hem, we got married on a rainy day. The dirt has come out perfectly apart from some very light marks on one of the underskirts which are not visible. Photo 6 shows the condition of the hem which is excellent all round. I have ticked "has been dry cleaned" as I want to communicate that the dress has been thoroughly cleaned since being worn. There is no damage, i.e. all buttons intact.

The dress has always been stored in a wedding dress bag which I will include in the sale.

The dress is a size 16, I am a size 14 usually (UK size)

Alterations

Dressmakers added the hook and button in order for the train to be hooked up, making the hem level all the way round, see final photo. A really handy addition. They also added loops at the bodice inside. They mean that when I wore a strapless bra, it was passed through the loops before being done up, meaning that the back of the bra is not visible above the slightly lower back of the dress. The loops hold the back of the bra slightly lower in place and it worked perfectly. Really clever!
The dress was taken in at the bust slightly and shortened slightly. I'm 5'9". Wed2Be say that their dresses can be taken in or let out up to 3 sizes, so this dress can still be altered if needed.
