The Dress

I originally bought this dress at Kylie J Bridal in Melbourne, and fell in love with it instantly. I am an hourglass shape (a bit on the busty side), and the fitted (fit and flare), v-shape neckline, lace wedding dress looked absolutely stunning. Being a corset lace up back it sucked me in at all the right places (what every bride wants). The dress is boned (very supportive) and has a beautiful champagne lining, with an ivory lace style overlay, which suited me perfectly. The label on the dress does say Sz20 but I am actually a Size 14, and even got down closer to a Sz12 for the wedding, so I wouldn't go by the actual size label on the dress. It was also deceptively lightweight, which stood up to the heat experienced on the wedding day, and was easy to move around in especially when bustled up.

I was married on a beach in Rarotonga, and there is a little tear on the lace, which isn't that noticeable, and I think it would be easily repaired or could be left as is (see picture). There is also slight fraying on the lining, but this too isn't noticeable as the lace overlay covers it.

The dress has been professionally drycleaned (Mansfield Drycleaners, Wellington) within a month of the wedding, and is currently stored in a preservation storage box with acid free tissue paper.

Alterations

I have had the length altered, as I was having a beach wedding. Therefore it is suited to my exact height (with flat shoes); I had the lace nipped in under the bust so it sat better, and the straps have been altered to fit me as well so they didn't keep sliding off; I also got hooks attached so I could bustle the dress too.
