The Dress

This dress is AWESOME! It's ivory with an elegant lacy pattern on the outer fabric layer, which gives it a bit of texture and makes it stand out, but without a lot of effort or hassle. It accented my shape perfectly (cinching at the waist and curving over the hips) and made me feel floaty and gorgeous (and stunned my now-husband into happy silence when I walked down the aisle).

I'm 5'3" and I wore 2" heels. With the heels on, it showed my feet a bit in the front (I wanted my sparkly shoes to be visible), but trailed on the floor just a little in the back. It would not have shown my feet at all if I'd worn flats.

I bought it second-hand myself, so it has now been worn twice. Both of us had great experiences with it and really great weddings, so this dress has supported some good times - I'd like to pass it on for someone else to enjoy. (One thing I didn't realize during the planning craziness is that your wedding can be a really fun day, despite all the details! Don't give up!)

The dress is not heavy, despite several layers of the usual thick fabric. It allowed easy movement without any danger of it falling or shifting (even while dancing), was easy to sit down in (I didn't need help going to the bathroom), and straightforward to get in and out of. I needed someone to zip it up and put the elastic loops around the buttons in the back, but it was pretty a low-stress/low-effort process.

I wear a size 4-6 for most clothes and I had this dress let out from the size of its previous owner. There is still extra fabric in the seams, so it could be let out a little further. It's been dry cleaned and sealed in a gown preservation box (see photo). Feel free to reach out if you would like more photos or have questions!

Alterations

I got the dress hemmed so that my blue shoes were visible when I walked forward or danced, and so the back of the dress floats on the ground (but there is not a train). I also had a belt added around the waist, which has loops on it that go over the back buttons (it's very easy to remove and reattach).

There was a small tear on the bottom at the back, which has been fixed.
